Appalachian Creations of Wood and Clay

Chris Keller has been carving wood since 1995. As owner of a shop in the wilds of Pennsylvania, Chris sold hand carved objects d’art to many loyal customers. Over the years, she has completed commissions including a church baptismal and faces carved in living trees.
Between running a business and raising children, Chris found the time to express herself with her hands and heart. Now, with kids grown, a recent marriage to a fellow artist, and a new mountain cabin in Buckhannon, West Virginia, she is free to rededicate herself to her crafts.
Chris says, “When I look at a piece of wood, I see a form or face asking to be let out.” The vision is then freed with a combination of old and modern tools such as Dremels. Her favorite subjects include Wood Spirits, Native Americans, Christmas Figures, and Animals. Recently, Christine has expanded her talents to include Pottery. She strives to create one of a kind pieces with unique shapes and glazes.
Chris’ work was juried into Artists At Work in Elkins, WV in 2007 and is exhibited at The Settlement House Gallery in Sylvania, PA. Enjoy the art of Chris Keller. Don’t hesitate to contact her with special requests, questions, or comments.
