'Twilight on the Mountain' PolyChrome Jasper in Silver Pendant
'Twilight on the Mountain' is the 8th pendant in the Mountain Series. The scene captured in this fabulous piece of Polychrome Jasper is that of that magical time of twilight when the day is ending and the night is beginning. You can almost feel the two worlds meeting- that in between time when anything is possible. I can almost smell the fresh air , scented with high meadow flowers, as the bugs begin their evening song. All in silver and hanging of a handcrafted 22" silver chain that swirls you into the night sky, this piece is a one of a kind creation. To find such a stone is a marvelous thing, nature paints scenes in rock that is then captured by the lapidaries' cut, and passed on to you , through an artist such as me. This is a natural stone. I enjoyed working with it and just love how it turned out. The pendant measures at 2 1/4" in L x 1 3/4" W. Read on to find out the amazing properties of this stone.
Jasper- Jasper is known as the “supreme nurturer”. It sustains and supports through times of stress, and brings tranquility and wholeness. Jasper provides protection and absorbs negative energy. It balances yin and yang.
Polychrome Jasper -
The semi precious gemstone material was first found on the northwest coast of Madagascar in 2008, while searchers were looking for more deposits of the popular Ocean Jasper. The deposit is said to be small, but I have heard there are actually 3 different locations in close proximity to each other and the Ocean Jasper locations.
All of the material is dug by hand. However it is found in boulders, some huge.
Polychrome means "the act of decorating things in a variety of colors." That is a very appropriate name for this colorful jasper. It comes in a rainbow of colors- from browns, oranges, purples, blues, pinks, and greens. It can be banded, or swirled, or often has a circular pattern or orbs.
It also goes by the name of Royal Savannah Jasper and Desert Jasper.
Polychrome Jasper is said to bring fortune and joy. It is thought to reduce stress, increase stamina, and ease allergies.
