'Window Through the Fog' Dendrite Opal Silver Pendant on silver chain
Titled, 'Window Through the Fog' this piece is to remind you that when the way seems clouded a window will open and the next step will be revealed. I love Dendrite Opal and all the little fern like inclusions that can be found in them. I could get lost for hours looking at it and dreaming. This piece is accented with black onyx, both on the focal and up the 22" silver chain. Made of Fine silver this piece is a masterpiece! I love the way it came out! The focal measures 2 1/2" in L x 2" W.
As always I like to make jewelry that helps the body, or what I call wellness jewelry~~ things worn on the body can add benefits to your health.
Dendrite Opal (Chalcedony Family)- Dendrite Opals are a fascinating stone belonging to the Chalcedony family, and fern like markings in an opaque stone. I love how it fires the imagination! I think of lying on a forest floor looking up through the trees to the white moonlight sky above.
It is said to be a joyful stone facilitating a friendly approach to others and promote tolerant interaction, without judgment. As a healing stone, it is said to help with problems associated with smoking, the immune system and inflammation of the female sexual organs.
Onyx is a protective stone worn when facing adversaries in battles of conflicts of all kinds, or while hurrying down a dark street late at night. Indians and Persians believed that wearing onyx protected them from the evil eye, and that placing onyx on the stomach of a pregnant woman in labor would reduce the labor pain and bring on earlier delivery. Onyx gives strength. It promotes vigor, steadfastness and stamina. Imparts self-confidence, helping you to be at ease in your surroundings. Onyx banishes grief, enhances self-control and stimulates the power of wise decision-making.
Silver is another of the healing metals that is most useful. Silver has excellent antimicrobial and antibacterial properties. Throughout history, silver has been used in medicine to cure infections and help heal wounds. This makes it a prime choice for body jewelry.
