Silver Daisy Ring Size 9
This beautiful Silver Daisy Ring I created off and antique Die. This involves heating the metal and pressing it with great force into the die and repeating this process several times before being able to remove the silver. After it is remove, it must be hand sawn out, sanded, formed in to the ring shape and soldered. It is a long process to make such a beautiful piece. I like to do this because it keeps alive the way jewelry was made for hundreds of years. Over the last century so many factories have shut down and have scraped so many beautiful dies. I have been collecting these patterns from someone who buys the old dies and remakes them for use today. However, each die he saves is limited often to only 50 made as the old originals cannot hold up to making many more than that. So rest assured, buying pieces of jewelry made with these dies is owning a piece of history and will not be massed produced.
As always I like to make jewelry that helps the body, or what I call wellness jewelry~~ things worn on the body can add benefits to your health.
Silver is another of the healing metals that is most useful. Silver has excellent antimicrobial and antibacterial properties. Throughout history, silver has been used in medicine to cure infections and help heal wounds. This makes it a prime choice for body jewelry.
